Hi, it’s Matt with a quick question for you.
Have you ever seen Ronda Rousey’s judo stance? For every one of her opponents, it’s a sight that they want no part of. There are not a lot of people who want to get in the ring with her and mix it up. In fact, it’s a huge reason why she’s dominating her competition.
And it’s a huge reason why your customers are enjoying a similar record with you. In fact, they are owning you. In fact, just like Ronda Rousey, they are breaking out in their judo stance with you…and causing you to fall into the trap of trying fight through that judo stance.
And as any one of her opponents will tell you…it’s a losing proposition.
So how do you know when you’re getting the judo stance from one of your potential customers? It’s pretty simple…when you hear any of the following:
- Can I call you back later?
- I have to talk my [fill in the blank] first.
- What are you selling?
- No thanks, I’m just looking.
- I don’t have time now.
The list goes on.
It’s not completely your fault. After all, you’ve been taught for years that the only way to succeed in sales is to master the art of overcoming objections.
But why? Why do you need to overcome objections? Have you ever taken the time to think about this? While you are, on one hand, trying to establish a relationship with your customer, you are simultaneously getting into a adversarial tug of war with them. No wonder your customers are on the defensive. They should be.
I mean, unless you live in some bizarre, backwards world, you would NEVER do this in any other area of your life.
Imagine what would happen if you tried this with your significant other? I tried it WAY too many times. I ended up sleeping on the couch.
Maybe you could try it in a job interview. Yeah, and you’ll be walked out by security.
Come to think of it, the only person who ever tries to do this is my 8 year old. And she usually ends up in a timeout before too long.
Clearly it doesn’t work.
It’s a total crock.
And it’s totally unnecessary.
So why would you possibly do something that’s going to INVITE opposition? I’ve never understood this.
And yet every sales trainer I’ve ever met teaches people to do this. Maybe that’s why they chose to get out of sales and quarantined themselves in a training room. Even they know that eventually this kind of repeated rejection stripped their will to go on. Now they get to sit in a training room with a PowerPoint clicker while you have to go out in the real world, all the while inviting constant rejection in your life.
They figured out it’s a sucker’s game…yet they teach you to do what they want no part of.
It doesn’t have to be this way. There is an EASIER, better way.
It’s time to quit being taken advantage of and learn one of the simplest and easiest ways to get more customers than you can handle…all while stripping rejection from your business forever.
It’s like starting a chess game with your customer with him having only pawns and maybe a rook to defend his king. Getting checkmate becomes a lot easier.
In fact, when you really start to grasp and incorporate what I’m going to teach you, you’ll find your customers will start to ask you for the sale.
Yes, I said that.
They will be trying to talk you into letting them be one of your customers. This time, it’ll be you making the decision whether or not someone works with you. And you might even break into a judo stance yourself.
