Tell me if this sounds familiar.

I was in the middle of this sales slump that came out of nowhere.  I had finished the last sales period with a goose egg.  Donut.  Bagel.  Jack Diddly Squat.

As bad as that was, I was on the verge of repeating this infamous streak.

Yes, I was starting to question myself.

What was I doing that was wrong?  Was my system not working anymore?  Did I need to scrap what I was doing?

The thought was tempting.

But then, like Cher in “Moonstruck”, I snapped myself back to reality.  I knew that what I was doing was insanely effective.  It worked.  In fact, it worked at such an insane level that any other path would have been really stupid.

I had to trust what I was doing.  Stick to the plan.  Stay the course.

As tempting as it was to let the short-term results dictate my strategy, I wasn’t going to let OBM creep its way into my mind.

So I kept going.  And the craziest thing happened.

I had an AVALANCHE of business come in over the next 2 days.  Enough to meet my entire sales goal for 3 sales periods.  I literally had the entire floor gathered around my desk — marveling at what was happening.

So how did this happen?

I made sure that the power in the encounter remained firmly in my favor.
